From the pulpit to the political arena.

Such a journey would seem to many to be an unusual path. But for Lamell McMorris, bridging faith in himself and faith in others comes naturally.

McMorris has not abandoned his Princeton divinity school training, but has refocused that zeal into his current work. As the founder of Perennial Sports and Entertainment and its sister lobbying and consulting firm, Perennial Strategy Group, he continues to build solid relationships with people and guide them in making the decisions, big and small, that will determine their own futures.

McMorris advises both entertainment and sports clients on business planning, career moves, and philanthropic concerns. He helps them identify opportunities that are just right.

Helping others is not new to McMorris, he has a long history of service. Before starting Perennial, McMorris was Executive Director and CEO of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, Director of the Chicago Urban League’s Youth Development Initiative, and National Coordinator of the “Redeem the Dream” March on Washington, D.C. in 2000.

He currently serves as the spokesman and chief negotiator for the officials unions in both the National Basketball Association and Major League Baseball. As the chief point of contact between referees and the NBA, he negotiated the National Basketball Referees Association’s most recent 5-year collective bargaining agreement.

Perennial is his dream – an expression of his faith and his faith in others’ dreams.

McMorris received a Masters in Divinity from Princeton University, and a B.A. in Religion and Society from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia.
