Closing deals.

That is what Brian Lam loves doing most. Bringing folks together and helping them work it out. And getting it done right. For him, it is a special moment when hands are shaken, documents are signed, and everyone walks away with a smile.

Whether it involves a corporate transaction, a labor contract, an equity investment, or a professional services engagement, the critical thing for him is seeing a deal through to the end. He understands that, while money drives most business dealings, one dare not ignore the personal relationships that often determine whether a project will succeed.

“In the sports and entertainment world in particular, it is important for folks to feel comfortable wherever they are,” Lam says. “This is something that is often difficult to determine, but we work with our clients in figuring it all out.”

Lam has many years of business and legal experience, primarily in the financial and high-technology sectors. He has represented a diverse range of clients, including public and private companies, investment and commercial banks, established and start-up businesses, and young professionals and entrepreneurs.

He currently serves as General Counsel for the National Basketball Referees Association, which represents all the NBA’s game officials, and the World Umpires Association, which represents all of MLB’s Umpires. He is also the Managing Principal for Perennial Strategy Group, PSE’s affiliated government relations firm.

Lam is a member of the California and District of Columbia bar associations. He is a graduate of Duke Law School and Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. He teaches business law and ethics to graduate business students, and lectures widely on management and business practices.
