In the summer of 2011, we officially began our expansion into baseball player representation. The expansion came naturally, having successfully developed a sports agency that represents some of the top players in the NFL and the NBA, and particularly in light of our deep connections in baseball as a result of our prior work representing MLB's umpires.
In 2009, Perennial negotiated a multi-million dollar, five-year collective bargaining agreement for the MLB umpires' union. In addition to labor negotiations, Perennial was responsible for handling all business and legal matters for the league's 60-plus umpires – from health insurance and disability to arbitration and grievance review.
Perennial is also committed to fostering diversity in baseball and to expanding the game into underserved areas of the country. To this end, Perennial actively supports various urban youth baseball initiatives and has assisted MLB in planning and executing its annual Civil Rights Game.
Like Perennial's current NFL and NBA clients, baseball players who select to work with us will reap the rewards of unparalleled connections and impeccable client service.
For more information about Perennial's baseball practice, please contact Dan Kaufman at 202.638.5090.

After a dominating collegiate baseball career, Matz was drafted in the 2011 MLB Draft by the Detroit Tigers. He spent this past summer with the Tigers’ Rookie Ball affiliate in the Gulf Coast League and now looks forward to continuing his success heading into the 2012 season. Matz is a promising young athlete with baseball in his blood. His uncle, Ernie Young, played professional baseball from 1994 to 2004, and is currently the Manager for USA Baseball and the Tigers’ Single-A affiliate, the West Michigan Whitecaps.
